Jewellers Association, Jaipur: A Century of Excellence in the Gems & Jewellery Trade
Established in 1927, the Jewellers Association, Jaipur proudly enters its 100th year as one of India’s oldest and most esteemed trade associations, representing the vibrant and ever-evolving jewellery industry of Jaipur. With a legacy spanning nearly a century, the association has been a cornerstone in shaping, promoting, and nurturing the city’s jewellery trade—steadily transforming Jaipur into a globally recognised hub for gemstone cutting, jewellery manufacturing, and trading. Operating from its office in the historic Johari Bazaar, the association is efficiently guided by a collective of experienced and eminent jewellers whose leadership, vision, and integrity have ensured sustained growth and relevance across generations.
Jaipur’s jewellery is renowned worldwide for its exquisite craftsmanship, vintage-inspired yet contemporary designs, and superior quality gemstones. Over the decades—and now across a full century of excellence—the Jewellers Association, Jaipur has played a defining role in elevating the city’s reputation in both national and international markets, consistently taking Jaipur Jewellery to new heights. Its contribution has been instrumental in reinforcing Jaipur’s position as a trusted global source for fine jewellery and natural gemstones.
The association functions through well-structured sub-committees such as the Trade Regulatory Sub-Committee and the Panch Faisla Sub-Committee, which continue to uphold transparency, streamline industry practices, and safeguard trade ethics. These systems, refined over generations, reflect the association’s deep-rooted commitment to discipline, fairness, and collective progress; values that have sustained it through 100 years of industry evolution.
As part of its ongoing knowledge-sharing initiatives, the association publishes Gem World, a bi-monthly magazine dedicated to Jaipur’s thriving jewellery industry, offering insights, updates, and industry perspectives. Alongside trade and knowledge leadership, the association has remained equally committed to social responsibility. Its CSR initiatives include the operation of Janopyogi Bhawan, a Dharmshala in Janta Colony providing affordable accommodation for psychiatric patients and their attendants, as well as the management of a Dharam Kanta at its office premises, reinforcing its long-standing role as a responsible community institution.
In 2024, towards approaching its centenary milestone, Jewellers Association Jaipur introduced JAY (Jewellers Association Youth)—a dedicated wing for jewellers under the age of 40. Designed to inspire, connect, and empower the next generation, JAY focuses on mentorship, networking, and growth opportunities, ensuring that the association’s century-old legacy continues to evolve with fresh energy and future-ready leadership.
One of the association’s most prestigious initiatives is the Jewellers Association Show (JAS)—a premier platform that connects jewellers, manufacturers, and traders from across the world. Through JAS, and as it steps into its 100th year, the Jewellers Association, Jaipur continues to strengthen the city’s standing as a leader in the global gems and jewellery trade, carrying forward a legacy built on trust, craftsmanship, and collective progress.
